30,000 Americans are fighting this genetic killer everyday and no longer just a “childhood” disease, 40% of us are now living into adulthood. An average life expectancy with Cystic Fibrosis now reaching 36yrs! Amazing advances in medicine have made this possible along with finding better treatments and creating brighter futures. However there is still no cure to this devastating disease so by educating, raising awareness and fundraising efforts we hope to continue this progress and soon make CF stand for CURE FOUND! I personally look forward to increasing not just our quantity of life but our quality! I’m asking for BETTER tomorrows but I need your help…

As proud volunteer for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and a young woman living with CF, it is so important for me to contribute whatever I can to help in the fight against it. Some of you may already be aware that I have been serving the position of media chair/spokesperson for the Sacramento Chapter of the CFF. This is a great honor for me to be able to put a voice to CF whenever possible. This also allows me the opportunity to shed some light on the adult aspects of this disease and to represent our (growing!) adult CF community. Working with the CFF has been something my family and I have enjoyed doing for many years now, attending various functions and hopefully contributing to the success of these fundraising efforts, all with the support of our many friends and family. Currently our main focus is centered on the upcoming Great Strides walk event. The Great Strides walk is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation largest and fastest growing fundraiser which takes place nationwide every year. This walk is a fun way for families (pets too) to get together and celebrate while raising awareness and money to fund research and hopefully the eventual cure for CF. Our local walk this year will be taking place at our state capitol here in Sacramento on Saturday May 3rd. As a member of the walk committee I can tell you how much work has been put in to make this a great family fun celebration including food, activities, prizes, a dance performance, and the music of a local band! Just by donating or showing up to participate on walk day it is truly one of the best ways you can make a difference…and have some fun at the same time! Your support for me and my team, Brandie’s Believers! is greatly appreciated. It will certainly be a great time, making Great Strides in 2008! The hardest part is getting those dollars! So, I would like to welcome ANY support you are able to give…good wishes, prayers, walking with us on May 3^rd and of course don’t forget the $$$! (always nice!)
